Ok here's an easy one for the Vette-erans out there. Is there a "best" assembly manual for a 72 vette with more or better detail? Appreciate your time and responses.
are the pages in this manual sideways, meaning you have to flip the book to read the pages?
Cheers
I'll have to check. I don't think so, it's been awhile since I needed it. But, definitely a manual really worth having. I wouldn't own a vette without one.
Mine are all sideways, PIA but it's not a novel, you usually need info from a page or two at a time.
When I was re-working the rear suspension this past winter I took everything off, located it in the AIM, made my checklist with values and notes and that's what I use to put everything back together (my method of making sure everything went back in and got torqued etc)
So the AIM doesn't make it to the shop very often, usually looked at before or after

No. All the hard copy AIMs are punched on the left for insertion in a common three ring binder. Just the same, some of the assembly diagrams in the AIM are meant to be viewed with the long side (11") as the bottom.
Regular 8.5 x 11 page:
Typical 11 x 8.5 page:
You will usually find both formats in an AIM. I have a 72 AIM and it has both formats.

i bought the PDF version and have it on my inside computer, an old laptop in the shed and even on my android smart phone
i can print out the pages as necessary to use when working on the car and not worry about getting them dirty
use the phone when at work thinking about what i'm about to undertake
the PDF is word searchable, makes it easier to find your way around in the manual
I need one cause the movers came and packed mine after I told them not to. I just ordered the Willcox CD and can't wait to get it. I'm gonna load that sucker up onto my iPad. I can't wait to have that out in the garage with me.... What a great tool!
In my opinion.. The CD version is best... 1) for the die hard paper fans you can print the pages endlessly. 2) They are OCR converted. 3) you can blow pictures up (good for people like me that can't see).
Seriously, to me there is on comparison to the printed paper version. But you should also remember to always search our site for tech pics and help pages. I find myself using this in our shop constantly. Today we were working on a 76 and while it's nice to have the computer handy.. I uploaded the 76 ac file from my site on my phone and sat there with the vacuum schematic on my phone.. Love these new fangled gadgets.
