Does anyone have these? $485 and they fit angle plug heads. Does anyone know what coating is used on these headers?

BlackJack Aluma Coat! Oh, I don't think they sell these anymore. Took mine off last year and replaced with Hooker side pipes. They are surprisingly in nice condition after 15+ years and ~25K miles. Going for $50! Any takers?

Hedman Hedders makes a SB header that fits to the 69 factory side pipe exhaust system. I had them jet hot coated and after a few very short years, they've become badly rusted nevertheless. They only cost $179 and were probably made out of the cheapest steel that can be bought.

Also, there's the legendary Hooker BB side pipe headers. I've sent emails to 2 custom header manufacturers asking if they can duplicate either the Hedman SB headers or the Hooker BB headers in stainless steel. I have received no replies. I guess business is good. Seems to me that given a set of new steel headers and duplicating them in stainless steel would be like shooting fish in a barrel for a competent custom header manufacture. I've had no responses to my emails, maybe theres a difficulty I don't understand.

Stans, had them for a number of years, no problems, no clearance issues.

I bought a complete set of Stainlessworks 1 3/4" header/exhaust. The headers clear the borgeson box by at least 1/2". Ask Stainlessworks Jason for pictures of the fit.

I have a set of flowtechs that i got from summit ceramic coated for about 300 bucks. As far as ground clearance the collector pipe is almost level with the floor pan, so you can't get much more clearance than that (in fact i wish they had more body clearance and less ground). Of course every one of these cars will have a different floorpan height. I did have to ding them to fit my borgeson kit on one of the primary tubes, but thats because I used the rag joint instead of a U joint.

For those of you with the Stan's headers - I see on their site the headers come RAW (no coating). Did you pay extra to have them coated, or paint them yourselves, or just install them as-is?

Any other suggestions is appreciated. Especially with pictures. Anybody have shorty or mid-length headers?
I have a mostly stock L-82 4 Speed with 66,000 miles and have used McJack's shorty headers for a few years now which are dimensionally an exact copy of the OEM exhaust manifolds in a shorty header, not block hugger headers, attached to 2.5 inch duals-love them! After years of LTH on various cars, I got tired of the issues with fitment, road clearance, and under hood clearance issues. Not for everyone, but for areas where the roads are frankly crap like the Northeast, they work perfect for me. Not convinced of much of a loss over LTH on the street for pretty stock engines. Last October dynoed the engine-all original internally- the only changes are the exhaust, Holley 4175 650 CFM vacuum spread bore replacement, and roller tipped 1.5 comp cams rockers (not true roller rockers) with the OEM dual snorkel air cleaner and the engine produced 233 RWHP which is about 291 Net HP using a 20% drivetrain loss value.

Also, have BBK ceramic coated Shorties on a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0, in place of the OEM Ford Tubular exhaust manifolds and they definitely woke up that motor as well.Again, no clearance issues at all!

Can anyone add more clarity to the stage 8 header bolts with Teardrop locks? Where did you get them and exactly what are these bolts? Thanx.

Ditto. BlackJack Aluma Coat. 29 years. I'm tempted to buy those from you but I just don't know if I'll ever need them, ever.

I had them ceramic coated at Jet Hot in Burlington NC. I love them. Great Fit. I did not have to dent or ding them at all. I have put about 1000 miles on them since I put them on in April. The finish is now a dull grey, which still looks fine. I used Stage 8 bolts as well with the teardrop locks. They work fine.

I have 4" exactly between the ground and the collector flange. I have the stock ride height.

Good Luck
You can thank me later, here are the prototypes in my basement, the very first set made. I've got the polished on my 427ci small now 1 7/8" primaries Josh should be cornering the market with these headers.

Flange is billet steel and the stainless is Type 321—similar to 304 but lower risk of weld decay due to addition of titanium the best you can get at the price of painted Hooker Headers.

First set ever made

I have those on mine. They fit with zero mods, great clearance and I have never had an exhaust leak on them, that is a good price. They are anti reversion headers too.
