Too Rich
I have an 81 with an Edelbrock RPM air gap intake and a 600 Edelbrock carb. It is running rich, pipes are black...... Can someone tell me approximately how many turns out on the mixture screws i should be at.
It also runs ruff on start-up until its warm. (no choke) but that should only make for a hesitation until warm, not run rough. Any suggestions on these two subjects would be appreciated.
Thanks,

The idle screws will help with setting the idle at rest but the black pipes and maybe black exhaust would be too rich from the jetting.
I think that carb has vacuum secondaries so it will meter the fuel on demand. Metering rods can come into play as well. There is some great Edelbrock tuning tips on the net.
The no choke will make it run rough till warmed up. Chokes are a good thing especially in northern B.C.

I downloaded the manual for that carb. All is good!
