SEEN one, it's way too large for a C3, without major surgery.....
but THAT depends on the purpose of the car, for a DD you much better off with a 200 4r, if you really love the stoplight acceleration...do a 700 r4.....
too boot a 4L80e needs a controller, cheaper today, but not so much some few years ago....

I'm putting a 4 wheel drive 4L80e in a truck in place of the Turbo 400 and it got me thinking......... thanks.
I agree with running 700R4/4L60, as a much easier swap. If you're running a strong 502, you'll maybe need something bigger though. Lot's more choices now, as the 6L series 6 speeds have been out for awhile now. The 6L80e is huge though, and maybe a waste for your current rear axle ratio. 1st gear ratio, is 4.05.
Anyone ever run a 4L80e trans instead of a Turbo 400?
I have recently installed 4l80e with manual valve body in my 69 and had no issues at all, it fits in the tunnel without any cutting or modification, only thing I had to do was fabricate new cross member. feel free to call for any info. Paja 503-329-7968

Note to self: add 4l80e to costs of project..... thanks!
Have the two side by side I thought it would fit. Thanks for confirming.
