I have the Hooker sidepipes installed on my 79. I removed the old muffler inserts and installed some "Sweet Thunders". Now I hear a little rattle on both sides. I think I just dropped them in. Is there a procedure to installing them in the tubes? (Tabs, weld-in, ???) Thanks

On a different set of inserts I was using awhile back I had the same thing and found header wrap would make up for the gap between the insert and the side pipe tube and the rattle was gone.

I hear mine more when it warms up. I will try the muffler tape. Thanks
