I am considering replacing my existing rear wheel suspension with rebuilt
trailing arm assemblies supplied by corvette central. Both rear bearings
are gone and thought this would be a better way to go. Anyone have
any experience in this and how difficult is it to do? Thx
The T-Arms on our old cars are notorious for collecting rust in the T-Arm pocket. If yours are anything like mine were, plan on soaking them for days in penetrating fluid, and if that fails, get out the sawzall and cut the thru bolts. Mine were so bad that the allignment shims, the T-Arm and bolt were one complete mass of rusted metal. Took me hours and hours to finally get them apart.
They have some good instructions on their site, and they also sale a complete suspension video for about $20 (front and rear)...that I found extremly helpful.
They also make the TArm Assembly replacements (even offset ones if you want bigger tires at some pt) along with bearing assemblies, etc.
Art is the main guy I've exchanged emails with and seen on the video. I'll be sending him some business this fall.
