What is normal temp on a 74 454 engine?

I think that sounds pretty good. I have the same car, except have added a Dewitts radiator and 180 thermostat. Over the weekend had the car out...continuous 65-70 mph saw temps of 200. When I dropped back to 55-60, the temp dropped. When I got off the hwy, dropped even further.
Basically on these cars, there is no true grille, and the factory chin spoiler doesnt bring up ample air to cool the big block. Around town speeds, the motor isnt working too hard, and enough air moves through the radiator to keep cool. I have a pace car spoiler ready for installation that will probably help for the highway action.
I remember last year turning on my a/c, prior to changing to a dewitts radiator, and the temps got HOT letting it idle as I attempted to recharge a/c.
If my air conditioning were working today, I would suspect I would run a little cooler than you around town, due to the radiator change, but I still think thats a decent temp. Im not saying Im in love with that temp, but keep in mind that TPI motors wouldnt kick a fan on until reaching something like 221 or 226 or something silly like that. 210 isnt dangerous, however 260 is.
