Default VIN location??
Where else could the VIN # be found on a '68 other than the dash?

Not on the dash...on the drivers side windshield post. You can only see it from the outside looking through the windshield. Chuck

On the Pink Slip, on the tank sticker, on the right front of the engine block and on the top of the driver's side frame rail near the rear tire.

'69's are also stamped on the side of the transmission (manual). It's probably the same for '68 too.
