No because all I did was remove the cap n rotor to take a few photos. That would've been great if it did but then it would've started a fight over WHY it started to work.

I get the part thursday then I will most likely need to get someone to put it on. Then with my luck it will be on to plan B.

Here we can see that the cable is not attached to the housing. Can we say for sure whether this is a GM dizzy or not?

based on this new pic, I'm going to stick my foot in my mouth and vote' not MSD'. Thats a pretty common points conversion in a gm dist. With his new looking cap , rotor , wires and now that conversion, against the background of the rust on that dist. cant vote any other way. Good news is, this thread went on long enough for Roger to post the next fix with directions on how to do it. my apoligies to you other members, and to the op, dont bugger that adapter up and you can return it. If they wont take it back , I'll paypal you the funds.

Looks like the GM dizzy to me with a convertion kit in it. I just replaced the tach drive cross gear on my distributor. I had a heck of a time getting it out. I pulled the dizzy out of the engine to do it. I put in the new gear but I can see a little wear on the shaft, no dought the problem will return because I didn't rebuild everything. It works for now.
