Crazy horn
I bought my 81 Corvette last July knowing it wasn't perfect. The horn and alarm never has worked since I have had it. The previous owner had a horn button bolted to the side of the console..lol..but the wires were not hooked up. A month ago I removed all of the interior so I could change the color. The wires going to the t-top alarm switches were cut and taped up and the hood switch is completely gone. I figured the alarm, had been disconnected. I removed the steering wheel to redye it and also to check out the horn. I got the interior back in and the horn still didn't work. I got in the car last night to move it around to the back yard under the carport. I started it and turned the headlights on and the horns started pulsating! I pulled the wire off the horns and moved the car around to the back yard. I looked in the shop manual but really can't find why this all of the sudden happened. Like I said, this car isn't perfect. The wiring has been hacked up and I have straightened alot of it up. It's not the original engine and the computer system has been removed. What do I need to do to disconnect the alarm permenantly and get the horn working? Also, why would this just all of the sudden happen?
