Took a look at my plug wires today. The boot on the plug is starting to sort of bubble up on the heat shrink. They are really close to the headers(flowtech). A friend recommended some shorty plugs but I don't know how to actually know which would be shorter other than just going store to store with my own plug measuring them. I have Autolite Iridium XP26. I want to get some shorty copper plugs. Ive heard that copper is the best for plugs. Anyone have any ideas on which I could use that would be short? Or at least shorter than the XP26's?
Yeah I've seen them. They're about $30. Even cheaper with employee discount, but I was doing research on them since they're resistor type plugs and supposedly they hurt performance. You haven't had any issues or lack of performance with them?
Would lawn mower plugs affect performance or anything in any way?
Only in a positive way because the ones you are replacing are probably fried...
Lawn mover plugs work fine - people in the know have been using them for years. You need to put some research effort into it to get a match of the specs with the plug you are replacing - unless of course you manage to get someone who has done it on the same engine to tell you!!
I currently have Autolite Iridium Spark Plugs that I just put on last july after having my engine rebuilt. Pretty sure they're still good. But I want copper plugs, read they're better for performance. I also want shorty plugs so my headers wont fry my plug wires.
