I never would've thought about using lawn mower plugs. I'll look into them. Those plugs of yours are copper?
Sorry, these plugs aren't lawn mower plugs and I don't know if they're copper. NGK is a major brand and they solved the clearance problems I was having.
I was at autozone and took some comparison shots of a few plugs. I'll try to find those NGK's you mentioned and get side by side shots. I saw a Bosch copper plug that were just like 1/8" or less longer than the accell 8199 resistor plugs. I'll post the pics asap.

The NGK plug I named is for a BBC and might not be the exact right one for your application. The number "5" in the part number is the heat range, which I believe varies from 2 to 11, with the lower numbers being "hotter".
Remember, you not looking for a shorter overall length, you're looking for the shortest length from the seat to the plug-wire tip. If you're looking at different heat range plugs from different brands, the overall length doesn't mean anything.
