Default Rear Shock recomendations?

I have had a annoying noise from the right rear and have found the culprit to be the shock absorber which is leaking.
My car is completely stock, I'm just wondering what you guys are running with? I was given a price at NAPA $59 each for Munroe shocks

Any thoughts? I have a '72 sb coupe

Cheers,Barry

Last Monroe shocks I bought lasted 2 years and all 4 were leaking. Bilstein Sport or Bilstein HD shocks. I run the Sport.

I've got Monroe Formula GP shocks on all 4 corners for the 75 that have been on since I got the car in 98 and no leaking, work fine, and with the monospring and sway bar give a nice ride. Don't plan on switching anytime soon.

Here is the top 3 shocks most here have/do use...

Monroe = Factory type shock. Soft ride and no adding to handling abilities.

KYB Gas-A-Just = Firmer than the factory and will help it handle a little better. Good mid level shock.

Bilstein Sports = Very firm and good to use if you have or will go to a mono leaf rear spring.

KYB gas are nice and are considered better quality over the monroe as well. Rockauto.com and others sell the KYB Gas-a-just.

Monroe or Delco standards for a stock driver. KYBs are nice, but not necessary.
