how much clearance with L88 pict link
Does anone have a L88 hood from Jcwhitney? How much additional clearance did you gain? side profile pict would be appreciated My carb sticks through the hood by an inch or 2 . With a drop base air cleaner and 2or 3 inch element I think I could clear if I had about 3inches of clearance I think it would clear. The only other option is one for a tunnel ram and that is like 6 in taller more than I need am trying to keep it close to stock dont want cops to have another reason to stop me . I take care of that w/sidepipes and driving if I can get a hood to clear I would put a K&N extreme lid to increase air flow thankes for looking Larry :cool:

To give you an idea...on my 1970 BB, i have the L 88 hood with (tall) EDL AirGap Dual Plane Intake / half inch wood spacer / Speed Demon 850 Carb ...and i have 1.25 inch clearance left.

L-88 hood only gives you about +1" over stock 77 med rise hood. Hi rise about +1 1/2. You might want to look at a hood scoop.
