Default A/C system problems again!

I read about switching from R12 toR134 but have been told by repair shop not to do it. For you that have done the change, how do you get the mineral oil out of the system? Did you change anything else when you did it?
I have to replace my hoses anyway.
Thanks

You don't really have to drain the mineral oil. I converted my 83 Cadillac with one of the kits and it works fine. On my vette I did the whole nine yards. The compressor has a drain plug. I then flushed the evap and condenser and replaced the drier. That got all the oil out. The vette blows ice cold with R134a. 42-44F out the vents on a 90F day.

I put on a new drier, vacumed out the system, added oil & 134A, now I have cold air. Biggest problem most have is overcharging the system. To much and it will not cool very well.

If you do not want to change anything out just use a R12 replacement like FreeZone, HotShot, or Frezz12. They will work with your exsisting oil. There are other ones out they also. I used FreeZone and it works good out here.
