deep socket and it screws out. There will be two or three wires attached to it and more than likely you will need to order the little prongs that are on the ends of the wires. Easy fix though.
Those switches come in many different configurations...lengths, number of contacts, button length, etc. For them to work properly, you MUST replace each switch with the exact duplicate of what you remove (assuming that the one you remove IS the correct switch to begin with). Local auto parts stores have 'generic' switches which will not work properly, in most cases. To order the proper switches, you need to get them from a Corvette parts aftermarket supplier that carries all of those switches. Check the website for Willcox (Forum vendor) to see if they have them. Other possibilities are ZIP products and Lectric-Limited.
In the rear wheel well is a little door panel that comes off, you can remove it to get to the back side if needed.
Cheers Mate, you save my sanity.. lol Needed to pull a little more wire through so I could get the switches out.. Found a little rust on the contact point but with a little sand paper they are both working perfectly now.. Muchly appreciated.
If you are referring to the switch in the lower back corner of the door jamb, GM still makes them. I just went to the dealer two weeks ago and picked up two 2 new ones. Don't have my AIM with me at work so I cant look up the part number.
From what I have read, the aftermarket ones were not so good, and the GM one was about 18$ I think.

Edit: Just saw the PO has already resolved the issue.
