please help with hood support.
I picked up an original big block hood about a few years ago (I think it came from a 69) and the hood support won't bolt up to the hood. It is too long. I have the telescoping one that came with 70. What hood support do I need to get? The holes for the support are about 8 1/2" from the hood hinges.

My Vette is a 69 and I remember that the factory changed the length of the support (to a longer length) sometime early in the C3 run. Aftermarket hoods for 68-72's come with two sets of mounting holes to accept either length support. You may just have to buy a 69 hood support.
