Rotor/Caliper problem
I just installed Wilwood D8-4 calipers on the front of my '70 as well as new rotors. The problem I have is that the right rotor is cocked a bit causing the bottom of the outside pad and the top of the inside pad to rub enough to make the wheel hard to rotate. The binding only happens when the wheel is on and tightened down. I thought the problem might be the caliper bracket so I replaced it - no joy!
Are the bolts all tighten down all the way? I had a problem with one of my rear calipers being crooked. It ended up that the new bolts were just a tad longer than the old and the bolt was not seating all the way because the treads in the end of the bracket were rusted and clogged up.
My bolts were tight but the heads of the bolts were not drawing the calipers to the brackets. I placed a few washers between the bolts and calipers and it solved the problem. Came back later a ran a thread chaser through the bracket holes to correct the problem.
You have new brackets so probably not the same issue. Let us know what you find out.

Yes. Turned out to be a bent spindle. Ordered one from "thecorvetteguys" on fleabay. Complete assembly with new backing plate and steering knuckle was $75 plus shipping. Problem solved! BTW - "thecorvetteguys" are great to work with - had the part in my hands in 2 days.
Although it never helped in the removal/installation of the front crossover brake line but I loosened the shroud and mistakenly removed the air intake snout that's under the radiator mounting bracket .
I had to jerk the intake snout out but I can't get it back in over the lossened shroud as it hits on the A/C evaporator. I removed the top bolts on the evaporator core, gained a bit but for various reasons, no joy.
I think the only way now is to remove the fan assembly so the shroud can be moved back further for more room to snake it in.
The question is after reading numerous posts here about the fan clutch. None mention the book procedure of using an indicator and the possible need for shiming. I'm not sure if the book procedure is for replacement but not a removal/reinstall of the same part but probably is.
It's also odd the way the shroud is shaped. The full fan diameter isn't open on the front side towards the radiator. If it was, I could move it back over the fan and "maybe" no problem getting the intake snout back in. The left hand side bolt mounting area does hit the top radiator hose, so that "might" have to be removed.

Wilwoods are great. I took it easy on the new brakes for a while but today had a chance to try them out. Stopped on a dime - gave me 9 cents change! I haven't converted the rears yet but probably will down the road. Biggest improvement for me though is they don't leak!
