Default Another a/c issue

Air not blowing cold. About 55 degrees on a 85 degree day at 2000 rpm. Evacuated the system, drew 29.5 vacuum for one hour, set over night, held vacuum. Added just 2 cans of evriro-Safe r12. Pressure at low side 45 pounds. Air from duct @ 2000 rpm 65 degrees. Not fast cycling, any deals?

What size cans? My '77 requires 3lb. R12. You are working on the '78? I am not familiar with the ESR12. Noonie is your best bet for help. mike...

Not sure what year you are referring to but did you check what the capacity is for the system, isnt 2 cans low? You expect more than a 30 degreen drop?

It's a 78 and the cans are 6 ounces of enviro-safe industrial 12 a refrigerant.

but did you check the recommended charge for a 78, you put in only 12 oz., it may have the number on the compressor

Is this R12? If not, you need instructions for usage of this product.

whats the head pressure at 2000 rpm?

the suction pressure is to high at 2000 rpm if its at 45 psi,

I've played with the eviro-safe industrial 12 and have seen lower vent temps over 134a in the area of 6* to 8* when charged correctly and the system is working correctly.

When charging you need to have a fan blowing across the condenser, one that moves a lot of air.

Jud, its a hydrocarbon based product (propane).

Their is an equivalent chart that you need to use to figure out how much enviro-safe refrigerant it takes (a good bit less than on the tag).

Thanks for the input, still very confused on the high readings on the suction side. The system worked great last year. WTF?

Really need both the low and high side readings plus temps to make a best guess.
