Yet another a/c question
It's 93* here in Morgantown and I wanted to test the cooling system and a/c work I completed earlier this year. I ran the car for nearly 45 minutes in town and on the open highway with the a/c on and the coolant temo never exceeded 200*- actually the needle stayed on the left side of the 200* mark

The a/c worked better (was cooler) when the car was moving, which is what I have heard about the r134 stuff so I guess I am ok there. The a/c was not super cold, but it was adequate to keep the car comfortable inside (remember its a black pace car).
The question I have is when I was going throgh the car, that "lmp" of black putty like stuff came off the lower line to the evap/blower assembly and it was so dried up I could not get it back on. What is this stuff called and where can I get some to replace mine? Also, what is its function?
Thanks all !
Dan

Having this switch bulb insulated now...will it help the a/c get a little colder?
\Thanks again!
