Default Help me identify where this u-clip goes

Hey guys. 1975 Coupe. Just replaced driver's inner door handle mechanism. This clip came with it. Where in the world does it go?

That clip goes on the door handle, it keeps it from falling off. Door handles and window cranks have them.

It holds
on the lock ****(or the window crank), not the actual door handle.

You are correct, I don't know why I said door handle.

As I recall, there is two notches cut into the back of the **** that the clip fits into. Put the clip in the groove before pressing it onto the spline. You need to orient the **** before placing it, or you will need to pull it off and start over.

If you orient the **** or handle in the wrong position you need this tool
to remove the clip.
Open mouth of the clip will face the open mouth of the tool.
Then push tool towards the clip. tis will cause clip to spread and push off the handle or ****.

They are very light and tend to fly across the garage when you least expect it, never to be seen again.

You can find extras in the Help! section at the parts stores...ask me how I know...
