Yikes!
Never got that far on inspection - opted for a ZZ4 (with a roller cam) and put the oem engine on a skid.



Again, FWIW, car ran great before teardown. I was more concerned with cylinder wear/scoring which seemed virtuially non-existent.

Of course, all the other lifters looked OK - well, except for a couple that were "indented" a bit.
Most people don't realize this, but chevy cams had a history of going bad in the 70s. Well know problem. Just lousy metal, nothing to do with oil.
