Most newer cars are drive by wire now, but all integrated into the engine ECU, cruise, traction control, ext. Really not seeing why you'd be wanting to do this on an older car though. If doing an entire LS swap, GM will be happy to sell you an ECU kit, with shiny new electric acc pedal for $1200 bucks. If the project includes a modern 6 speed auto, GM has a $1000 TCU kit for that too. Prices are actually quite good for the intended purpose, and glad to see GM has these availible, but think I'm sticking with the simple cable linkage on my car.
Even if it did exist why would you want to do it?
Both my daily drivers have throttle by wire and I don't like it on either one.
There is a noticeable lag in throttle response from these. Never noticed that on any cable throttle system, injected or carbed. Just because some technology exists does not make it better than older tech.
Hmmm, I said carb because this I can modify to fit my setup.
Here is why I am thiking about drive by wire.
Running a 454 stroked to 496 and a 671 blower with a BDS style bug catcher with the fuel injection built into the catcher all powered by a F.A.S.T. ECM.
I was thinking that this setup will take some very tricky linkage.
We build EFI systems for blowers and work on Lsx powered cars. DBW throttle bodies have large and fairly unattractive mechanism hanging off the side Hanging it off the side of a Bugcather would kill the look. Plenty of cable kits for them. Also, I don't believe FAST supports DBW
