OK I need you to help an old man out. I am putting my 70 back together (started with a motor rebuild and have expanded just a little including stripping the firewall and all new wiring). As I am putting everything back together on the firewall I went to the shelf to grab the windshield wiper motor and realized I have 4 of them on the shelf and none of them are marked so I think I know the right one but not sure.
They are all Delco and none have the correct washer on them - I have a WTB thread on a 5 port washer. Is there a difference on the 69-72 pumps? I know 68 is a one off and I believe they changed in 73-74?
Right now I am going for the cleanest one that tested fine but don't want to find out later it is the wrong one.
Hi Steve,
The info I have indicates the wiper motors were the same from 69-72, with just the differences in pump nozzle configurations.
I believe blue tinted motors, and motors with part # stamps, are service replacements.

Alan
Thanks Alan. I am also assuming the motor case should be natural as the one i have that is painted black is an aftermarket. I see a few online that the bottom of the case looks to be slightly different.
Hi Steve,
I believe the cast 'frame' of the motor/pump was natural originally, and the motor 'can' was plated; maybe zinc or cad.
The flexible thin plastic 'cover' was just natural black plastic.

Alan
