My wife and I recently bought a new car. Our 1994 Honda Civic commuter has 160,000 miles on it and we know it can't last forever. We looked at a bunch of cars and wound up buying a black 2002 Chrysler Sebring 2 door LXi Coupe with a manual 5 speed. To make a long story short...this car is awesome. It's got a V6 and is fast....fast....fast. We thought the Honda was pretty peppy but this thing will blow the doors off the Civic. The Sebring is loaded with every option except the combo tape deck and cd. We just got the cd only. Otherwise, it's got it all. The car is as fun to drive as my '69 'Vet and with the 5 speed, you think you're driving a sports car. If anyone has one, has driven one or is thinking about buying one....post it here because I want the feedback. I have my own business....making signs....not selling cars....but just thought y'all would like to know what a great car this is.
You can see info on the car at http://www.chrysler.com. Go to Sebring Couple LXi and there's a bunch of pictures and specs. It's a great car and fun to drive.
Any new car is nice. I know after riding in my vette on crapy roads and hearing all the rattles and squeeks, it is nice to hop in the Highrider and only hear the big tire noise. Enjoy!
I had an Infiniti I30. It had a 4 speed automatic and that thing would fly. Now I know my Corvette is slow, but this I30 would take it by 20 links at the track (that's an educated estimate). It came with 215 hp and would absolutely blow the front tires off from a dead start and when it kicked down into 2 at 60 to pass a car, hang on.
Also, this was the first front drive car I ever owned and I was expecting a load of torque steer, but it wasn't as noticable as I thought it would be. After that car, I have concluded that Infinities are damn nice cars and built to last.
Congrats on the car. It's cool that Chrysler began offering the 200hp six with a stick. I love stick shifts, but with my job, I need an auto. That's why I ditched my SVT Contour in favor of my truck.
Just the same, if situations changed, and I was in the market for another car, that Sebring would be high on the list. It's a sharp car too. Looks real nice.
We've always been Honda people. My wife and I have had seven of them since we've been married (1974). This time we swore we would try something else and man...this Sebring is really nice. We decided to keep the '94 Civic as a knock around car because it still runs great...to it's credit. We just wanted something different and we're delighted with the new addition.
I wiah I could afford a new car...
I have the 82 vette 102,000 miles
A 93 crewcab dually ford 102,000miles
And a 79 Jeep CJ7 102,000 miles
But with my 2 daughters now in high school at the same time (12 &9 grade) and we told them they get a new car/truck when they graduate from high school.
Plus both of them planning on college...
I figure that I will be broke for the next 10 years :cry :cry :cry
