I am installing a monoleaf spring from VBP that comes with their plate & bolt kit. The bolts are longer than the stock bolts, but their threading covers nearly half the bolt compared to the stock's 1" of threading. This seems to me like it would destroy the bolt threads or the spring when the suspension moves. I would expect some kind of smooth metal sheath inside the spring bolt holes but there is none. I realize that others here have these same kits and don't seem to have any issues (example from another member here: http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/mookem/)
Am I missing something or is this normal and nothing to worry about? I'd call VBP but today is Sunday.
This image is from another forum member, but the before & after spring setup is identical

If you've properly installed the cushion retainers from your old ones they should be fine. The longer bolts and threads, along with nylock nuts, facilitate easy rear ride height adjustment.

Thanks. Yeah, a cushion retainer is built into the new spring and the t/a one is still there from before.
