I remember reading a Car Craft or Hot Rod article a few years ago, and they said that that the roller tips useually didn't roll, they just slid across the valve tip just like the factory non roller. Their conclusion--on most street engines, it makes no difference. Use them if i makes you feel better.
Another thing that I've always wondered about--the aftermarket sellers claim that the standard rockers very alot and are not always the correct or advertized ratios. Fact or fud put out to sell more aftermarket parts??

Probably some truth to the variation claims when it comes to run of the mill bits, but I like to imagine those such as the "H" long-slots had better quality control.
