I did read here that a lot of guys do not like the pro Comp aluminum heads. I have also read that some people felt they were not bad for the money. Has anyone tried the cast iron heads? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-GM-CHEVY...item2a1cfe6c52
I don't want to buy junk. I also do not want to put money into my 882 heads. I don't hear good things about them either. Unless someone has actually had good results with the Cast Pro comp heads I won't buy them. I'll wait for a good deal on a used set of heads comes around.

Then don't buy Procomp. There are a lot of quality aluminum heads for under $1000. Why buy used heads and pay to rebuild them. You will be close to new cost. Save up and buy the right heads for your build. If your looking at iron heads Dart Iron eagles or Vortec.
I have been steered away from these heads. I haven't used them but think I'll go with Dart heads. From what I'm told their better heads and not for a lot more money.
I believe it was either chevy high performance or car craft last month that did a dyno comparison of heads under 1000$ procomp didn't do as well as other heads in the same price range which is no wonder considering that the comunist chinese don't build hot rods. it was actually a good read. If you could save up for a while longer & bought a set of afr's you'd never be wondering what kind of performance that you lost out on.
