Canadian Crate Engine Source?

Anyone know a good engine builder/supplier in Canada?

I'm looking for a smallblock with some b@lls to replace my aging L-48. My plan is to rebuild the original and keep it on hand for resale.

I'd prefer an Albertan or B.C. source if one exists.

This may seem a little obvious....your local Chev dealer. They sell performance parts.

Roger, search the Forum archive for ZZ4, the GM Performance crate. You'll find a wealth of information. I'm picking up my Vette from the mechanic with a shiny new ZZ4 either today or tomorrow. Can't wait to roll with it.

Is 355 HP and 405 ft/lbs enough b@lls for you?

I'm thinking, or toying with the idea of a ZZ4, but not until school is out. Now, I'm more then likely going to end up in the US, Texas I think. So, what is the going cost for a ZZ4, installed, and on the road? (I hope you don't mind me asking). Either in Canada, or the US.

Dwayne, I don't mind you asking. I paid Cdn. $5399 + GST/PST for the engine. Then, there were the extras: new carb, new fuel pump, new starter, headers. Once I get 'er home, I'll post a final tally of all of the costs, including installation.

There is a wholesaler in Edmonton that has or had some LT1 police interceptor motor assembly's that were 1996 assembly line pull off's There are brand new in crate 5.7L 365 hp. motors were complete including injection with injectors, flywheel, exhaust manifolds, water pump even plugs and wires. A person would have to buy the harness and computer. $ 5700.00 CDN. :) I almost wish I needed a motor change.
