Default progress report....pics

Just wanted to share with the forum how this old 81 is going so far.

It's actually moving pretty fast now. Things are falling into place.

My solution for starter wiring. Thanks to all the advice on here.

This is the fan sensor I got from Corvette America. Comes on at 200 and shuts off at 180. Fits like a glove and screwed right in.

Water temp sensor, again from CA and it screwed right in. I had the same luck with the oil temp sensor. All sensors in and wired correctly.

Just one of the reasons to get rid of the ecm on and 81.

Even with the A/C compressor, much cleaner w/o the air pump stuff.

I REALLY like my Hooker Sidewinders

I see some dirt on your garage floor. None anywhere else.

Looking sharp, man.

You are definitely going to need some heat shielding for those header pipes....both for the electrical wiring and for the body panels. Otherwise there will be some melted insulation and some burnt body paint.

But, your work looks great and the "TO DO" items are getting checked off one-by-one. Keep up the good work.

.
I have the Hooker chrome 4 inch pipe and muffler inserts for the sidepipes.

What do the guys who run these hooker sidepipes do? I see an awful lot of them on cars.

Late model C3s with sidepipes are awesome.

Keep going and posting.

Looks great! I suggest the use of some small diameter heat sleeve to cover the water temp sender wire. I like the black bolts on the silver painted intake manifold; nice detail.
