4 speed swap almost...
I do have a few questions though, i took it for its first test drive, i was real easy on it knowing that it needs some break in time.
i had a small smell of clutch after about 5-7 miles driving. I didnt smell it until pulling in the driveway though.
Second questions i have a small faint squeal noise only when clutch is engaging (clutch pedal coming up) and only when in gear. It did get more faint from leaving driveway to coming back after the 5-7 mile drive.
Third i cant get the speedo cable hold down on trans to fit, cable goes in and speedo works, im sure they are different for auto and manual, part number?
Any help guys thanks

4 Speed.... VERY nice! Well worth the effort.
I looked in my 71 AIM and the speedo cable retainer at the transmission is # 3708148. There's also a seal shown, #3708146.
I don't know if that will help on your 69 muncie. Maybe?
I'm sorry I'm not enough of a mechanic to help with the rest of your questions.
Good Luck!

Alan
It may have been pedal linkage, but no more smell now. Just need to mold sheet metal for hole and install lower shift boot and the swap will be done .

Some of like to shift our own gears
69 Chevy, didnt mean any disrespect, i looked and looked for a 4 speed when i bought mine but it seemed like they had dried up so i bought a auto car and saved for 3 years to be able to get all the parts (military doesnt pay all that well) for the 4 speed swap, i did look into the 5 speed W/C trans but they wanted a small fortune it seemed, i live on a island and the top speed as per speed limit is 55 mph.
I know now how to do the swap and where short cuts can and cant be taken, hopefully i can help people in the future on here.
