I know this is kind of silly, but I found it humorous. My husband, who has never driven a corvette, finally got to drive my Mom's yesterday. Each time before that the car seemed to develop some mysterious problem. He mentioned to his boss, with a perfectly straight face, how the car had "let him drive it" finally. :) He had a huge grin on his face when he said it. My Mom says my Dad's car always hated her, and broke down almost every time she got in it to go somewhere. Then she said, also with a straight face, how Corvette's were particular about how you drove them.....watching the two of them sitting there nodding knowingly gave me giggles. Makes me wonder if our cars don't know a Vette person on sight. ;)
 Sure Scott, you can join our family, there's always room for another car crazy, project person. Now if I could only find a brother with a 50s or early 60s model we'd be set. We've discovered it's good to have back ups for the back ups...I can't remember when we've ever had more than two of them on the road at the same time. ;) The only rule is you can't be too particular, original doesn't seem to mean much to these crazy people. If Dad is missing a part he pulls it off his car and puts it on mine...somehow I think I'm getting the short end of the stick again, because new parts magically appear on his car when he gets around to buying them. I've threatened to put a lock on my hood. :smash:
I know a lot of things that work for me, but seem to work for no one else. I know for a fact, that if my dad ever takes my car for a weekend, he'll have nothing but trouble. But it will run for me. Fussy cars appreciate car people.
Explain this: why is it that the moment you take a car to a mechanic to fix a problem, the problem goes away? Anytime I've taken one of my newer cars in, and tried to reproduce an issue for the dealer, I've crapped out.
So yes, a lot of cars have soul. But I think it takes awhile for them to get it. I don't know what the threshold is, but it's there.
 Sure Scott, you can join our family, there's always room for another car crazy, project person.
You've checked up on me   Sounds like fun , I started young handing tools to my dad at 6. Actually in the next couple years I might become a Texican  I've got nearly 20 years in where I work and all my family lives in Richardson and have been bugging me for years to move there.
I that when a car is driven by one person all the time it develops there style so when another person, who drives faster or with more brakes, starts driving it things can break.
