1971 brake switch question
Easiest test is to ground the switch wire with the key on.
If the warning lamp lites up, the circuit is good, if not the circuit is bad.
To test switch itself , use ohm meter and leads on brass body and switch pole, if you get tone, then switch is bad or spool is not centered.
Remove switch and retest by itself.
You can also use clean fluid and push the spool back and forth, each side to try and free it up and clean it.
