Default Motor Mounts

Got my engine back today, I decided to use solid motor mounts, Got the engine and pone bolt in the other side does not line up, it is a half a hole off. I am going try and use the original motor mounts tomorrow, if that works then the Moroso are wrong. Has anyone had this problem. Thanks for any help or direction. I would like to start it up tomorrow.

I also used the moroso solids and mine didn't line up exactly either. I took a large screw driver to help line up the hole better while the other side was loosly bolted.

You may have to loosen all the bolts and mount fasteners to get enough slop to make it work and then tighten them back up to get it to fit.

Moroso is good stuff and it should will work well.

It's likely the 40 something year old frame has settled some.

I went back and loosened all the bolts up and put a longer one on the bottom, got them all flush except for the bottom one. I am still a 1/4 in out.

If I am reading this correctly you have everything in place all bolts are tightened flush except for the longer bolt in the bottom......hmmm I wonder if......no that would be too easy....hmmm maybe not, do you think there is any chance the longer bolt bottomed out in the block ?, just a wild guess

I used the bolts that came off of the Rubber motor mounts, so the same bolts went back in, all the bolts are the same size

Everything that I ever bought from Moroso had to be "modified" is some way.

I hope you get it worked out. Good luck.

I've never had any problem with the Moroso 62530's not bolting right in. If those are the ones you have, something's wrong, or Moroso isn't what it used to be.

Do you have the motor weight supported with a jack?

I also had a slight misalignment with 1 long bolt.
All bolts on engine block kept loose in thread
Just used a long lever to push motor into desired direction to
get the last long bolt in through frame mount.
Then tightened them all.

Helps if you have someone to push bolt through when levering motor.

Engine is is and off of jacks, I did loosen all bols on the mounts, I got the bolt to frame in and tightend all bolts on the mounts but still have a 1/4 inch on the bottom bolt. I did start the engine last night. I have moved on to different problems that I want to fix 1st, then I will come back to this problem.

You said you put a longer bolt in the bottom ? I don't understand is it sticking out 1/4 in. or is the hole off 1/4 in. You can snug it up if the bolt is the correct length and already partially threaded into the block.

The C3 is 30-40 years old and some have frames that aren't exactly square

Be very careful with solid motor mounts - they are more prone to fail by cracking than cushion mounts. I had one develop a 3/4" long crack after only one year of use. If it had gone another 1/4" it would have completely broken off one of the two legs.
