So I got a spindle from another vette and compared it to the new one from corvette central. I went to find the part again on corvette central and its been discontinued. I called them and they said GM discontinued the part and haven't heard of any problems with the part. I was wondering if I should let this go or continue to find the reason it was discontinued.

Are you still trying to blame the spindle? Even HD ones will fail if subjected to sufficient abuse. I'd let this go and mark it down to an error by the spacer between the steering wheel and the seat back.

That's an old Carter AFB (re-popped by Edelbrock, aka "Performer"). In order to fit that carb, the linkage has been Bubba'd and other things aren't right. I'd be taking a good look at the carb installation and the quality (or complete lack thereof) of the installation modificaton. Better yet - get rid of the AFB carb and put the right carb with the correct linkage and brackets on the car.
There is nothing to blame on your spindle or halfshaft. Any spindle or u-joint you use will break with a 6000 rpm neutral-drop. Replace the spindle, fix/replace the carb, and don't do that again.
