Allen Exhaust
I am looking at installing new exhaust system from headers back. Has anyone installed Allen's turbo mufflers? What can you compare them to and what are they like in the cockpit while driving? I appreciate any information on Allen's Ehaust. Thanks in advance!!

They sound similar to the old factory side pipes. This is a quick video of my Allens Chambered II system as heard from inside a convertible. 2 1/2" front pipes, 2 1/4" tailpipes.

I used the Corvette Central option N-03 "off road" mufflers and pipes on our 70 LT-1 roadster, I think those sound just right......

car. I love the sound of a HiPo engine with solids. Nothing else like it. I had a K code Mustang for a number of years, similar at making power as the revs climb, but a lot less torque. I hope to run across you and your LT-1 at a show sometime.

I bought a set of pipes from Allen's for my 76, were to fit from header back. I could not get them to fit , and I have done exhaust work in a shop before this. Took them to a custom muffler shop and they too said they don't fit . Called Allen;s up about this mis fitting system, they said too bad, we have your money and no refunds.

He was probably trying to tell you that you have to make your own front pipes if you have headers. I've never found a header that his front pipe fits without modification. I've installed 5 of his systems in the past 10 years and all but one tailpipe fit perfectly. He sent me a new pipe and didn't want the old one back and threw in 2 additional stainless extensions. I've had to weld front pipes for every job, it's to be expected with headers. Very good vendor to deal with.
