Default diff question

I was only thinking about it.

But since i need to get my diff ratio changed and rebiult. Is It possible to put a modern diff in there. Traction control even. One that you can turn on or off?

Well, anything is possible, if you throw enough money at it. However, what you are suggesting is not very plausible. Sorry.

Keep the shiny side up!

>95% of c3 corvettes have posi traction. This is traction control. The gas pedal is also traction control. If, when you floor it and the tires don't spin there is something wrong with your engine. It dosn't have enough power.

Q: How fast do you want to go?
A: How much money do you want to spend?

There are better things at which to throw your money, including a few suspension issues you'd best look to address anyway. But, if you have the funds available (easily 6+ figures) I, for one, would sure like to get involved in a C2/C3 e-diff IRS project.

FWIW, Ferrari attributes a ~3 sec lap time improvement around Fiorano in the F430 to developing this one technology. ...assuming that's the sort of thing you mean by "modern diff".

Dont have that much money.

As diff rebuilt will be 999 From the usual stores, then has to look at 1/2 shafts. Proberly buy it complete new around 1500 bucks i think.

Traction control has nothing to due with the diff. Modern cars use the engine computer and the antilock brake controller for wheel spin. When rear wheel speed exceeds that of the front, the engine controller dials back on throttle, fuel, and timing, and at the same time the ABS pump will run and the antilock controller will apply the brakes to the spinning wheels.
