Default 1979 headlite assembly questions

Any help will be appreciated. 1 to rebuild the headlite assemble is it better to remove the complete assemble or rebuild it in the car? 2 is there a schematic of the entire assemble ? Thanx JAY

The AIM manual or the factory repair manual would be the best sources for diagrams. Why are you trying to rebuild them?

Working on the headlight assemblies is easier when out of the car; but there is also risk of paint damage, etc while removing/reinstalling them from the car. If you are just doing some 'repairs', do that while in the car. If you are completely refurbishing them (to new car condition), you would do better with them removed.

If you were doing the side pivot bearings I would say pull em but if you feel you won't scratch the paint. Go for it
