I took my 77 apart Last December. Long story short I took all 4 brake calipers off to have them powder coated. So yesterday I put all four of them back on. And bled the brakes. The front two calipers have one bleed valve each. And they stop and work great. The back calipers have 3 bleed valves each??? As far as I know these are stock. All three valves on each rear caliper had been bled as well but don't have very much pressure. The car is up on jack stands and when the Gears are engaged the rear wheels won't stop when Brakes are applied. So What am I doing wrong? Why is there three bleeder valves on each rear caliper and is there any certain order in which I have to bleed them? And why do I only have a little bit of pressure to the rears? Any help would be greatly appreciated
You only bleed the two upper bleeders on the rears. If you open the lowers, you introduce air into the system.
Very easy to introduce air through the bottoms. On most calipers, these are plugs but the ends are the same as bleeders so these are used as substitutes. Just leave the bottom two bleeders snugly closed while bleeding.
Alright guys thanks. I'll go give that a shot. Basically I waited till a week before my lease ends at the apartment like a dumbass to try and rush to put it back together to at least a drivable point.
