As I develop my plan for a C3 project car, I need some opinions from those of you familiar with C3s & mods.
My base plan is to go with a '73 model car, and use a late gen LS 2/3 with a 6spd from a new Camaro/GTO or the like.
I'd like to know how important it is to get a manual trans C3 car to start with, or are the clutch/brake pedal quadrants and related components readily available for such a conversion?
The manual trans C3 have a different mid cross-member from the auto cars?
Any other thoughts or comments on such a conversion are welcome and appreciated.
btw... as mentioned, I'm in the market for a car as well, and I want to start with a pretty nice one to begin with... if you know of any for sale, I'd appreciate a referral.

I used my stock clutch and brake pedal and purchased a DBW Corvete pedal.

Crossmembers are basically the same, but the auto has a removable crossmember (MUCH easier to work with) and the manual is welded in. Either way it will have to be modified.

What I learned is lots of things come up and there are hidden costs that you originally did not factor in. Whatever your budget in, add at least another 25%. Even when an aftermarket part is said to "bolt in" more times than not it didn't and needed too be modified anyway.

Good luck with your search.
I don’t think there are two C3 swaps that are exactly the same, and it is hard to find a foolproof swap outline. The differences in car to car and the different original equipment and swap equipment make it this way. Do as much research as you can before you start. And you will find things that you didn’t realize you would need or the "might as well, while I am here" will kick in. Good luck
