Well I picked up the car yesterday and had a good chat with my guy. Based on the fact this was a reoccurrence he and his AC guy contacted the OEM to get all the exact specs wrt oil and freon amounts. They flushed the system and installed a new dryer. I think he covered most of what all of you suggested. On the drive home she's once again blowing icey cold. Thanks for all your info and assistance, until the next time!
BTW is it normal to have to crank the fan to max to get real airflow? My lower fan settings just don't seem to push much air.
Hey Old, thanks for the link...nice horror story with a happy ending but I will have to consider the PITA factor...perhaps a nice winter project so there's time to walk away when I get really frustrated!
thanks to your assistance I tripped across another thread describing a seemingly easy fix for the blower issue that I believe I'll give a try. Change out the blower motor ground wire with a heavier gauge and move it to a better ground point.
Freakin' remarkable! Changed the blower motor ground wire gauge and grounded it to the AC compressor and it blows like the wind now, remarkable. The perfect example of the KISS principle. Thanks to all who helped!
