Default Tach reading incorrect - new board

My tach has never worked since I owned the car, so I recently bought a new tach board. I got that all put back together, started it up and it works!

But wait, it appears to be reading way too high. I bought a new tach filter as well and tried it with and without that installed.

Before the repair, the tach was stuck at about 2000 RPM and never moved. Should I have manually zeroized the needle when I had the tach apart?

Your video is 404, but yes, it needs to be zeroed. Easy process. Pull the needle off, turn on power (engine off) and push the needle on so it reads zero.

Fixed my video, and found Willcox's video of the step I missed:

Oh well, the column should come out a lot easier this time!
