Question for the LS3 install guys, there is a speed sensor wire/connector on the gm harness, does the engine require or not?, if so where/how does it plug into?
The VSS normally plugs into the tail shaft of the transmission (electric speedometer). I am not sure on your TKO, but think you can get it with mechanical drive or electric VSS. It tells the ECM that the vehicle is moving. Some run without it, but I think most would agree it improves drivability. It also gives you an output for an electric speedometer. I haven’t used one but they make adapters to use with mechanical output transmissions.
Here is one, and it is not the only vendor http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod/prd109.htm

I had stalliung issues without a VSS on both my LS swaps. The Dakota Digital inline (connects to the speedo output) VSS fixed that with my Richmond and T10 trans. The ecu can be programmed for the correct speed with the Dakota Digital unit, but does not need to be reading correct speed to solve the stalling issue.
The DD VSS will not put out enough pulses per revolution to allow the DBW cruise control to function though. If you want that, let me know, there are a couple solutions.
small problem, I have a custom made tail housing, adapted to mate up to a 4x4 transfer box, so speed sensor is gone, but there is a electronic speedo sensor in the transfer box, (transfer box from a land rover)
I could connect the transfer box speedo sensor to the gm harness/ecu??

It would depend on the number of pulses per revolution generated by the Land Rover box. Guessing it generates a square wave pulse. I sure don't know, my British stuff is old Maybe Gary will jump back in, he has worked out some VSS problems. Another place for good info is http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids-28/
