Default unilite re-curving

my '72 with a stock L48 has been fitted with a corvette tach drive Mallory Unilite Distributor 3864501 by a previous owner at some stage.

from the dissy instruction sheet - [ 24° (crankshaft degrees) of mechanical advance (between 3,000 and 3,200 RPM) ]

reading all these posts about re-curving for power/performance gains, is that possible with this distributor?

is so what kit do i need and which tuning info / settings do i follow?

I had Mallory do mine to 15 degrees mech advance at 3000 rpm. You should call then as to what they do

Here ya go:
Advance Curve Change Kit. . . . . Part No. 29014
Required to change the amount and rate of
advance within a range of 14° to 28°. Includes
degree keys, springs, and instructions to plot
advance curves.

It's listed in their instruction doc:

As an aside..........do you have a bunch of advance springs in a drawer and don't know which is the "lightest" one?

Take two springs and hook them together, end to end.
Pull on each spring in opposite directions.
The spring that begins to separate at the coils first is the weaker one!

PS-On my Unilite, I just placed the lightest springs in the kit and didn't change the total advance.
