windshield wiper door
Last night we took the vette out for a midnight run and right after it fired, the wiper door poped up. I checked the wiper switch and the maunal control button. Both are in the right spot. So, I can't figure out how to get it down. I'm pretty sure these things are vacuum operated which means many vacuum line to rot and leak. Someone please tell me i'm missing something obvious or that there is an easy way to get this damn thing down. :boxing :flag Any advice or ideas are welcome. :chevy :chevy

chall, it's a loss of controll vacuum to the vacuum relay up under the passenger's fender liner....that vacuum relay opens the door is vacuum is lost to it's controll diaphragm....so....that can me caused by loose hoses, bad wiper switch under the door at base of passenger's wiper arm....that's the one what has an OPEN hose going to it, exiting in the engine compartment, suppoesed to be that way....OR a bad vacuum solenoid mounted up under backside of the tach...down lo...barely accessible to spyderman....and or the vacuum door open switch under the steering column....or a loose hose...

I was afraid of that :mad Since i don't drive The vette in the rain (deadly sin, you know) is there any way to get the door to close and fix it when i get time? :cheers: Thanks for the quick help MrVette
