Yup - those Taylor 8mm wires are bad-azz !
....got 'em all cut to fit (custom kit) and my Big Block has a Big :D
For testing - I laid down a pair of black marks the length of my car.
Wow, even my dad (in the pass. seat) said it now feels like a big block car. :yesnod:
Only thing I don't like about my Accel's is that they are yellow and they show every little bit of dirt/grease. I had a set of blue Summit wires before and they looked good with my med blue paint. But I put some blue tubing over my wiring and it makes me :U . I am going to replace it with black tubing on my next engine transplant in 2002.
IMO - Accel & Taylor are in different categories....
used ta have Accel and they didn't last.... :(
When making the Taylor wires - I noticed that it's not some cheap carbon job with a flimsy silicone wrap.....those center spiral cores are almost like the old copper wire ! ....they're so tightly wound - that I'd be surprised if MSD could hold up to 'em....
Sure 8.5mm is 'fatter' but the strength on the Taylor center cores is about 5 times denser & stronger that your normal hi-po wire. :yesnod:
Sorry to hear that .....No problems here whatsoever
It could be that there are 2 different Accel product lines..... I did notice that the Accel wires in the catalog <Summit> look a little different than the box off the shelf at Pep Boys which is where I bought mine.
Also, these new Taylor wires have the 135-degree boots which is what the orig. wires on a BB are ! :yesnod:
I know accel has a least two different types, I got the 8mm noise suppression kind which didn't cure my radio interefenerce problem like I had hoped and a second kind but i don't remember the exact discreption but i think it was a little more performance oriented.
Witenite - Right on, buddy ! ....I'll post some tomorrow ! :D
...course a blue car with blue interior & now blue wires - maybe I should do the whole blue thing & get blue tires !!! <like those ones with blue stripes the ricers use> :p:
Did you ever look into getting the Taylor Spiro Pro wires braided? I want to try to get the best plug wires while keeping some of the originality look of my 70, 454 BB. Let me know what you learned. Thanks, Jim Phelps
