There is some controversy over the type of metals in the trim parts. The early headlight bezels, headlight doors and brackets are cast aluminum, I have repaired the bezels with a mig welder and aluminum wire and argon.

Whatever the material is, a good experienced welder can weld it. Both pot-metal, regulator arms for the power windows on my 65 Riviera were broken. A local welder welded them and I never had any problems since.
