A good friend has given me an aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold. He said it would increase fuel mileage. The only information on the manifold is the name Edelbrock, S.P. 2-P on the top side and 3000 on the under side. Can anyone give me some info on this manifold?

The SP2P (I had one on my old jeep) is a very low revving manifold. it works from idle to about 4500 if i remember correctly. the old time jeepers love em, although I like the performer better, as my son and I rebuilt my old jeep and put in a well built AMC 360.. they, the SP2P's, have very small runners and have a quick throttle response but die of quickly at higher RM's/...... imho, you do NOT want this manifold. ..
Thanks pauldana
My car has a small block 327 with a very mild cam tied to a 200 4r automatic transmissio and a 370 rear end. It is use primarily for cruising and I doubt it will ever see 4500 rpm. Do you think there is any advantage using this manifold over the stock cast iron manifold? If not I'll probably just polish it up and set it on the shelf to look at.
Thanks pauldana

Well, it IS considerably lighter than an iron manifold, and any weight loos over the front wheels is a good thing....

no. But, you can actually get good money for it on ebay... about $150-$200. like i said the Jeepers are big into these, and they do not make them anymore. Then take the money and buy a Edelbrock Performer. then you will be a happy camper. :-)
A 327 w/ a cam WON'T die off at 4500. Those engines RUN. Dump that Edelbrock manifold, but it was a very good gesture-your friend giving you that manifold. He could have sold it.
