V54 T-Top carrier question
Did the carrier kit for '80 -'82 come in a spacial bag? If so, does anyone have pictures and/or measurements or one for sale? My '80 came with it and I recently acquired a kit and the well nuts but nothing to store it in. I know it hangs by straps (which are still in the car behind the passenger seat under the rear window) but I have no good idea how it all goes in there. Any help would be appreciated.

That's what I was assuming. Could I trouble you for some pix and measurements sometime so I can have one made? They are apparently hard to find. I would appreciate it.

My bag was Grey in color, how ever I don't know anything about a way to hang it up on the passenger side. Basicly it was just a goody bag to throw all the Cariier Parts in so they didn't get lost. The Carrier option was made in Canada, and some of them had Canadian Flag stickers on them and some not. I have herd that some of the bags were Black, and mine was Grey.

The carrier came with a vinyl bag, that was color keyed to match the car's interior.
If I recall correctly, the bag had a chrome grommet on each end of it, and the car's rear compartment had 2 turn buckles. The bag was designed to be hung from the turn buckles, on the passenger side of the rear compartment.
If you have an Assembly Manual, it has an illustration of the location of the bag, and it's attaching points. If you need to see the illustration from the Assembly Manual, let ma know, and I'll try to post it tomorrow.

gbvette62 is 100% correct on his info. I'll be glad to get some measurements for you. But for the pics I don't know how to do that if not I would be gald too. Just give me a few days. Doc wants me on bedrest till this weekend.

Thanks for all the responses! Yes, my car still has the straps hanging under the window behind the passenger seat. I found them when I replaced the carpet recently. I now have a full carrier kit with factory well nuts (now installed) which are considerably more substantial than the ones I have looked at elsewhere. It looks pretty good sitting on the rear deck. If I just had a storage bag...

Thanks! The pictures help a bunch. Does the open top fold down and over the latches before the straps went on? How did the bag close before attaching the straps?

The top folds down over with 3 snaps , the 2 straps on the back have a different snap that you can detach the bag from .
