Default Supertrapp exhaust?

Does anyone know anything about supertrapp mufflers? The 74 I just got had them on, but I've never heard anything about them. I think look like junk, but don't really want to swap them out unless they're holding back performance.

Super trapps aren't bad, you can fine tune them to your needs...
More back pressure = more torque
Less back pressure = more HP...
You just remove.add disc's as you tune them....

Plus they should sound pretty good...I have considered them as not to many people have them...

We used to run them on our motorcycles all the time...post a pic of them if you can
Or let me now if you take them off

Here's a pic:

I'll probably keep them on for now.

I know supertrapp's literature says it, but is it really true that more backpressure gives more torque? That doesn't make sense to me. I can see it not affecting low-end torque much, but it improves it??

Thanks for the pic, it might look better if they were tucked up underneith the car more, and tilted down...

Yes they are tuneable, just add a couple of diske per side and your low end torque will go bye bye...but top end will improve...

Let me know if you want to get rid of them. I run them on my Corvair headers and we used them in SCCA road racing for years. We were required to run mufflers after years of open exhaust and the rep gave us one for our 510 Datsun. We actually improved our lap times! At first we were the only guys running one and we didn't tell a soul how well they worked. They really caught on with the sprint car crowd and then everyone knew they worked. The tuneability is the best feature. Mine are tucked up under the car on either side, and I don't get any exhaust stains because they're open around the sides.
